Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't my alarm ring?
Shabbat Clock uses iOS 26+ AlarmKit for system-level alarms. If alarms aren't firing, check that iOS Settings → Shabbat Clock has Alarms permission granted, notifications are enabled, and the alarm is enabled in Shabbat Clock's Alarms tab.
How do I set an alarm based on a prayer time?
Go to the Zmanim tab, tap the bell icon next to any prayer time, and choose how many minutes before you want the alarm to ring (0, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes before). The alarm is recalculated daily based on that day's actual zman time at your location.
My zmanim look wrong.
Zmanim are location- and timezone-dependent. Check that the location shown in the Zmanim tab is correct, iOS has granted Shabbat Clock location access (or that you've picked a city manually), and that your device's timezone is set correctly. Shabbat Clock follows the opinions of the Vilna Gaon (GRA) by default.
Can I use Shabbat Clock without granting location access?
Yes. You can manually pick a city from the location picker — GPS is not required.
How do I sync my data across devices?
Your data is stored locally on your device. iCloud sync may be introduced in a future release.
What do I get with Premium?
- Unlimited alarms (free tier is limited to 3)
- Access to all premium alarm sounds
- More customization options
How do I manage my subscription?
Open iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Shabbat Clock. From there you can change your plan, turn off auto-renewal, or cancel.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I upgraded to Premium but the app still shows the free tier.
Tap the Restore Purchases button in the Premium screen. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase and that your device has internet access.
Can I use the app in Hebrew?
Yes. In Settings → Language, choose between System, English, or עברית. The app fully supports right-to-left layout.
What iOS versions are supported?
Shabbat Clock requires iOS 26 or later because it uses AlarmKit.
